Market Drivers
According to Barchart and Reuters, the rebound in prices was largely due to supply concerns, even as weather in Brazil improved.
- The International Coffee Organization (ICO) reported that global coffee exports in July fell 1.6% year-on-year to 11.6 million bags.
- From October to July, exports totaled 115.6 million bags, down 0.3% compared to the same period last year.
- ICE-certified inventories continue to decline, with Robusta stocks down to a 1-month low of 6,552 lots and Arabica stocks falling to 686,863 bags – the lowest in 15 months.
Brazil remains a key factor. Adequate rainfall is needed to secure a successful flowering phase for the 2026/2027 Arabica crop. Despite recent rains in Minas Gerais, analysts note that the market remains highly sensitive to weather fluctuations.
