Vietnam Liberica Coffee Beans – Screen 16/18
Overview
Vietnam Liberica coffee is a rare variety distinguished by its large bean size and exotic aroma. Unlike Arabica and Robusta, Liberica offers a bold character with a naturally glossy appearance and a unique tropical fragrance, making it a strong choice for roasters seeking product differentiation.
Flavor Profile
When roasted, Liberica develops a signature scent similar to dried jackfruit, combined with light floral and woody notes. The cup is full-bodied, gently sweet, and low in acidity, finishing with a subtle fruity brightness that remains clean and refreshing.
Origin
Liberica coffee in Vietnam is mainly cultivated in provinces such as Kon Tum, Quang Tri, Gia Lai, and Lam Dong. The plant adapts well to warm climates and challenging growing conditions, and is valued for its strong resistance to drought and common coffee diseases.
Processing Method
The beans are processed using the dry (natural) method. Whole coffee cherries are sun-dried to allow natural sugars to develop inside the bean, contributing to the coffee’s deep aroma and rounded sweetness.
